Earning WellBAMA Rewards in 2025 just got more exciting with WellBAMA Points!
Starting in 2025, the new WellBAMA Rewards program will enable employees to earn points for participating in designated well-being activities. To receive WellBAMA Rewards, employees will need to accumulate at least 50 points. Rewards will be distributed in $50 increments based on points earned, with a maximum of $100 in rewards available per calendar year.
WellBAMA Rewards will be distributed in January following the conclusion of the rewards year. However, if an employee chooses to attend a health screening, they will receive the points value of $50 as a gift card at the time of the screening.
The WellBAMA Rewards points accrual process offers employees:
- Expanded opportunities to earn points through a wider range of well-being activities, and not just through qualifying programs and wellness classes like in past years.
- Increased flexibility to participate in well-being activities around various work schedules with many options available virtually or at your convenience.
- Greater autonomy to customize your well-being journey based on personal interests and health goals.

Check Your WellBAMA Rewards Status
The WellBAMA portal now shows your real-time progress for the year, helping you see what you need to complete in order to earn your WellBAMA Rewards.
WellBAMA Health Screenings
The WellBAMA program begins with your personal health screening. The measurements taken during your screening include: height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, blood glucose, and other health factors. To ensure accurate results, participants should drink plenty of water. Fasting for your health screening is preferred, but not required. Once you complete your health screening you will meet with your personal health coach.
During your health coaching session, we will offer education and interpretation of your health screening results, discuss lifestyle choices that can impact health, and provide resources available on campus and in the community to assist in making positive lifestyle changes.
Benefit eligible UA employees may attend one (1) WellBAMA health screenings per calendar year.
Note: Participants can substitute blood work results from their primary care provider for the on-site blood work screening, with additional measurements completed during the health screening.

Terminated or departed employees are not eligible to receive the Reward at the end of the year. Retired employees that complete all requirements by the date of retirement will receive their Reward at the end of that current year. All Rewards are a taxable benefit.
Notice of Reasonable Alternative Standard: Your WellBAMA program is committed to helping you achieve your best health. Rewards for participating in a wellness program are available to all employees. If you think you might be unable to meet a standard for a reward under this wellness program, you might qualify for an opportunity to earn the same reward by different means. Contact the Wellness and Work-Life Manager at 205-348-6153 or ccmacvicar@ua.edu and we will work with you (and, if you wish, with your doctor or nurse practitioner) to find a wellness program with the same reward that is right for you in light of your health status.
