National Walking Day was a huge success this year! On Thursday, April 2, we had 108 participants join us across multiple times and locations, taking steps toward a healthier campus.
Whether starting at the Walk of Champions, Welcome Center, University Medical Center, or the Employee Resource Center, participants enjoyed morning, lunch, and afternoon strolls. Walking is a simple way to boost your health by improving mood, reducing stress, and supporting heart and muscle health. We loved seeing coworkers connecting, moving, and making small steps that lead to big changes.
Many participants asked to see this event happen more often. The great news is you don’t have to wait! We’ll officially kick off our Mid-Morning Walking Breaks starting Thursday, May 21, meeting every week on the Quad in front of Gorgas Library.
Thank you to everyone who laced up their shoes and joined us. Each participant earned 10 WellBAMA reward points for their efforts, and together we made April 2 a big step toward wellness.
Let’s keep the momentum going! Small steps every day add up to big health benefits.
