Looking for a simple way to boost your energy, reduce stress, and enjoy a break in your day? Our Mid-Morning Walking Group is the perfect midweek pick-me-up.
We meet every Wednesday between 10–11 AM in the front of steps at Gorgas Library, and you’re welcome to join anytime during that hour. Whether you walk for a few minutes or the full time, you’ll be making a positive step for your health.
Why walk mid-morning?
This time of day is ideal — your body is awake, fueled, and ready to move. A short walk in the fresh air can increase your energy and alertness by improving circulation and delivering more oxygen to the brain. It’s also a powerful way to lift your mood, reduce stress, and reset your focus for the rest of the day. Research shows that even just 10 minutes of movement outdoors can lower stress hormones and boost mental clarity.
Why walk together?
Walking as a group adds connection to the benefits of movement. It builds a sense of community and offers a natural way to engage with coworkers outside the office. Social connection is strongly linked to better mental health, increased motivation, and even longer life. Being part of a group can help you stay consistent, feel supported, and enjoy the experience even more.
Each week, we’ll have cold water and a small wellness giveaway to keep you refreshed and encouraged.
